Having just completed a busy Thanksgiving, the Holiday season is in full swing with Christmas, Hanukah, New Years, shopping, decorating, parties, gift wrapping, family and the list goes on.

We as Self-employed and sales reps have a special role to play as we are called to a higher standard. The tendency of most professionals in our position is to take it easy and expect business to slow down and often by our own designs.

After all, isn't part of the reason we adopted this

lifestyle in the first place was to have more control of our time?

So many networks similar to ours will decide to take some time off and business postpone many of the usual events and functions until "after the holidays".

I, and other leaders of KBC, personally challenge you to avoid this mentality. Consistency and showing up is a pillar of the self-employed. So as attendance and effort slows this time of year among others...

Brad Johnson, Boulder Designs

Brad Johnson, and his wife Stephanie, are owners of Boulder Designs. Brad has been attending KBC for a few weeks and has brought a unique line of work to the group: rocks.

Brad is a native Texan and was working in the energy sector, presumably gas and oil. After all, this is Texas. He worked in a cubicle for years but never felt he was actually contributing in the machinations of the corporate world. He was unsatisfied as he went unrecognized for his hard work and devotion and was continuously frustrated as promotions, large salaries and hefty bonuses were rewarded to people who didn't deserve them and and who probably should have been fired instead.

He turned his back on the cubicle jobs in 1998 and entered into a partnership with another, but the partnership didn't work out.

In October of 2022, Brad and Stephanie attended an expo for potential franchise owners and Stephanie noticed Boulder Designs, a company that creates ornamental rocks of all sizes.

Stephanie was hooked. She has always loved working with rocks in an artistic way and so they decided to commit to Boulder Designs. They specialize in pet memorials, signs, headstones, garden decorations and are small enough to be more flexible and attentive to customer needs than the larger manufacturers in the same field.
